Stagecoach collected two top awards for introducing the first employee experience app in UK transport. The company implemented Blink, the mobile and desktop app, in 2018.
25,000 staff now use the app: to find out company news, communicate with colleagues, provide feedback and access training and policies.
As a result, the 2019 Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards gave Stagecoach the Gold Prize. Pundits praised them for “driving efficiency and engagement for bus drivers and engineers”.
Stagecoach also won the 2019 Digital Workplace of the Year. The accolade recognizes organizations with well-executed, high-performing digital workplace environments. Consequently, Stagecoach picked up the Award for Enabling the Frontline.
Stagecoach Director of Technology and Change, Lesley Ashman says:
“We’ve worked hard with the Blink team to deliver the platform to thousands of our employees quickly, so we’re really pleased to receive these awards. Blink helped increase the level of employee engagement across the business. So, it’s a valuable internal communications tool we’re looking forward to using in the future. We are very proud of our employees across all age groups. They made the win possible by embracing new technology and becoming internal communicators via Blink.”
Sean Nolan, CEO of Blink responded. “Operators have focused their digital transformation efforts on green journeys and customer experiences. Stagecoach realized that employee experience was the missing piece of the puzzle. Therefore, it’s great to see the team recognized for investing in their workforce. Drivers play a vital role in connecting local communities. It’s delightful to see Stagecoach drivers happier at work and more engaged with the company culture.”
